At John H. Woodson Junior High School, we are dedicated to providing a dynamic and engaging academic experience for our 7th and 8th grade students. Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for high school by fostering critical thinking, creativity, and a passion for lifelong learning.

Core Subjects

Students receive instruction in essential subjects to build a strong educational foundation:

  • English Language Arts (ELA): Enhancing reading, writing, and communication skills.​

      • Explore the functions of government and the responsibilities of citizenship.

Enrichment & Elective Courses

To support personal growth and skill development, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of enrichment and elective courses, including:

  • Electronics – Hands-on learning in circuitry, wiring, and basic engineering concepts.

  • Dance – Exploring movement, rhythm, and cultural dance styles.

  • Agriculture – Understanding farming, sustainability, and environmental science.

  • Spanish – Building foundational language skills in speaking, reading, and writing.

  • Business – Introducing entrepreneurship, finance, and career readiness.

  • Computer Graphics – Developing digital design skills using creative software.
